Fall 2012 readings

All readings are Thursdays at 7 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

Susan M. Schultz and Craig Santos Perez at CSU San Marcos, Thursday, April 26




Please join us on Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m. for the next reading in the Community and World Literary Series at California State University, San Marcos, featuring Susan M. Schultz and Craig Santos Perez

The reading will be held on the Cal State San Marcos campus in Markstein 125. The event is free and open to the public, but there is a fee for on-campus parking.

Susan M. Schultz is the author of several books of poetry and poetic prose, including Aleatory Allegories (Salt, 2000), Memory Cards & Adoption Papers (Potes & Poets, 2001), And Then Something Happened (Salt, 2004), Dementia Blog (Singing Horse, 2008) and Memory Cards: 2010-2011 Series (Singing Horse).  She also wrote A Poetics of Impasse in Modern and Contemporary American Poetry (Alabama, 2005).  She edits and publishes Tinfish Press out of her home in Kane`ohe on the island of O`ahu.  A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, she is still glowing over the 2011 World Series.

Craig Santos Perez is a native Chamoru from the Pacific Island of GuÄhan/Guam. He is the co-founder of Ala Press, co-star of the poetry album Undercurrent (Hawai'i Dub Machine, 2011), and author of two collections of poetry: from unincorporated territory [hacha] (Tinfish Press, 2008) and from unincorporated territory [saina] (Omnidawn Publishing, 2010). He was a finalist for the LA Times 2010 Book Prize for Poetry and won the 2011 PEN Center USA Literary Award for Poetry. He is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa, where he teaches Pacific literature and creative writing.

Harold Jaffe reading at CSU San Marcos, Thursday, April 12


Please join us on Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. for the next reading in the Community and World Literary Series at California State University, San Marcos, featuring Harold Jaffe.

The reading will be held on the Cal State San Marcos campus in Commons 206. The event is free and open to the public, but there is a fee for on-campus parking.

"Guerrilla writer" Harold Jaffe is the author of 19 books of fiction, docufiction, and essays, including 15 Serial Killers; Straight Razor; Sex for the Millennium; Paris 60; Anti-Twitter: 150 50-Word Stories; and OD.
